Once such capabilities have been developed, it will be necessary to provide a MIL-SOC “impedance match” between military customers and commercial COTS silicon
This design service has characteristics that make it quite different from existing and planned commercial efforts.
To develop and maintain access to COTS silicon, at the state-of-the-art, we believe it is essential that the military establish such a MIL-SOC design capability.
Candidate “locations” for such a capability are within an existing design services company, if a suitable business model could be established, or perhaps within an existing military electronics contracting business.
