From a military perspective, one application we considered was an existing SAR image formation system. Today, that system occupies a cubic foot, operates at 60MHz, and consumes 1kW of power.
In 2010, that entire systems will fit on a single silicon chip and consume less than 6 watts. Alternately, the system could be run at much higher clock rates with attendant increase in power.
