Logistics

  • Material: We'll primarily use Boyd and Vandenberghe's book on convex optimization, and related material. Lots of background material (eg, on linear algebra) can be found on the hyper-textbook here.

  • Homeworks: there will be about 5 Homeworks, which require the use of Matlab.

  • Exams: There are two midterms (on Oct 1st and 31st), no final and a project.

  • Project: details on the project coming up soon. For now, consider teaming up in groups of three to four (maximum).

  • Grading: 40% homework, midterms (30%), project (30%).

  • Software: for the homeworks, we will use the free matlab toolbox called CVX.
