Noticed the Ella work, RSRE, England around 1985 (CHDL ‘85)
Many of their notions seemed to make sense and opened new avenues for thought and experiment
Also came across l-calculus, Church-Rosser, and decided to see if canonical representations and structural verification could be applied to higher-levels of abstraction (Dr. S-H. Hwang, 1987)
Began the BLIS project (Ella-based) around 1988
