Leaf Scorpionfish being approached by the proboscis (lower right) of Conus striatus on the hunt. The fish moved and touched the proboscis, the cone stopped hunting and retreated beneath the sand. Originally placed in this aquarium tank merely to be photographed, the scorpionfish was moved to safer quarters and eventually returned to the sea. --- Maui, 1974 --- Last updated 02/21/2016
