Bob Dahlberg

Bob Dahlberg is currently Vice President, Business Development at ReShape.

Bob has over 20 years experience in high-technology management. He spent 12 years at Synopsys, where he started as the marketing department. During his tenure, Bob managed diverse functions, including worldwide application engineering, the service business unit, and the Synopsys Venture Fund. Bob started his career at Intel evangelizing DSP, Ethernet, and silicon foundry products.

John Fernandes

As the Director of Business Development and Strategy in the Emerging Business Team, Fernandes is responsible for Microsoft's strategy, programmes, marketing and business development activities with strategic startups and the venture capital community.

John and his team engage with select early stage portfolio companies, identifying areas of mutual benefit with those who are embracing .NET, working together to create the next generation of software innovations. His team also engages with forward-looking technologies as diverse as security, image colour systems, and wearable computers.

The Emerging Business Team focuses on emerging companies (startups) who align with Microsoft's future technology and business direction as well as commit to developing & deploying .NET based technology solutions for Microsoft's diverse range of customers.

Prior to coming to the Silicon Valley, Fernandes worked for Microsoft Middle East, managing Microsoft's business development efforts in the early days of mass Internet adoption. His team was responsible for MSN, Developers, Network Service Providers, and E-commerce solutions over a 20 country region.

Before joining Microsoft, Fernandes worked in various international markets including the UK, India, and the Middle East as a change management and strategy consultant for Bratton Consulting and the Amritha International.

John is a Canadian, and has a Masters degree in Business Administration from the University Of Western Ontario, Canada. John actively participates in a number of non profit organizations including Digital Partners and the SOS Children's Villages.

Jerry Fiddler

Jerry Fiddler is chairman and co-founder of Wind River. Since its establishment in 1981 in a Berkeley garage, Wind River has grown to become the leading provider of embedded software worldwide. Through its evolution and growth, Fiddler has taken on whatever role necessary - from chief and only programmer to CEO and chairman of the board. While building an international, multi-million dollar organization, Fiddler gained a reputation as an expert in the design and implementation of real-time systems.

Since beginning his embedded career at Lawrence Berkeley Lab, Fiddler has published and presented numerous papers and articles on embedded technology and the rise of hidden, or embedded, computers in everyday life. He has been the keynote speaker for numerous conferences worldwide. He was also a member of the first NRC national study of networked embedded systems.

Mr. Fiddler sits on several corporate boards, including Tensilica, Axis, Crossbow and Nanochip, as well as a number of advisory and non-profit boards. He has worked actively both with students and in an advisory capacity at a number of universities, including University of California, Berkeley, Wharton, and University of Illinois.

He received a B.A. in music and photography, and an M.S. in computer science, both from University of Illinois.

Paul Lippe

Paul Lippe is a lawyer and business executive.

From 1992-1999, Paul Lippe was an executive at Synopsys, an electronic design automation company. During that time Synopsys grew from $63MM to $800MM in revenue and $400MM to $4BB in market cap. Paul was at various times Senior Vice President, General Counsel, and ran Business Development and Corporate Marketing.

After leaving Synopsys in late 1999, Paul became CEO of Stanford SKOLAR, a digital library and e-learning sponsored by Stanford. SKOLAR was recognized as a leader in self-directed learning, with the first AMA-approved in-context learning system. SKOLAR has been sold to Wolters Kluwer.

From 1984-1988, Paul was an associate at Davis, Graham & Stubbs in Denver, Colorado. From 1988-1992, Paul was Vice President, Corporate Development & General Counsel for Solbourne Computer in Longmont Colorado.

Paul served five years on the Colorado Air Quality Control Commission, including two terms as Chairman.

Paul is a graduate of Yale College and Harvard Law School.

David Messerschmitt

David G. Messerschmitt is the Roger A. Strauch Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences (EECS) and the Interim Dean of the School of Information Management and Systems (SIMS) at the University of California at Berkeley. His current research interests emphasize the impact of business and economics on software and telecommunications technologies. From 1993 to 1996 he served as chair of EECS, and prior to 1977 he was with AT&T Bell Laboratories in Holmdel, New Jersey. He received a B.S. degree from the University of Colorado, and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Michigan. He is a Fellow of the IEEE, a member of the National Academy of Engineering, and a recipient of the IEEE Alexander Graham Bell Medal recognizing exceptional contributions to the advancement of communication sciences and engineering.

Dana Settle

Venture Partner - Mayfield Dana Settle has always been attracted to working with early-stage companies, helping entrepreneurs create a practical strategy out of an initial vision. At Mayfield, she is part of the communications team, focusing primarily on next-generation infrastructure companies. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of Monet Mobile Networks and observes on the Boards of 3Par Data, digiMine and T-RAM.

Prior to joining Mayfield, Dana's experience included international business development with McCaw Cellular Communications and investment banking with Lehman Brothers in the communications practice.

Dana holds an M.B.A. degree from Harvard Business School.
