To test the integrity of all major components -- motors, signal generation hardware, shaker table, camera and vision system, we devised a simple experiment illustrated below:

The idea is for a single coin, initially placed at the center of the plate, to be steered along the branches of a plus sign (one roundtrip to the edge of the table and back) for each of the branches, in clockwise order.
