Administration

CS Graduate Assistant - La Shana Porlaris
La Shana should be your first stop for any administrative question. She knows about all the forms of whatever color, and she will orient you joyfully through the bureaucratic maze. The CS department is blessed to have such a friendly staff!

CS Graduate Handbook
To get all the glory details about the EECS graduate programs. Contains the PhD requirements, financial support information, course description, etc.

Computing

IRIS - Instructional and Research Information Systems group
They are in charge of your graduate student account. They have a lot of information in their 'Services' section about email, web hosting, networking, printing, etc.

EECS Instructional & Electronics Support Groups
They are in charge of the class computer accounts and other things. I am not too sure what is the difference with IRIS, but they have distinct servers, and have a whole deal of information about computing also.

Practical Info

SISS Practical Info section
SISS (Services for International Students and Scholars) has gathered practical information which could also be useful for US residents: you can find there a list of near banks, discount shopping places, transportation information, etc.

Berkeley's Official Student Handbook
An A-Z guide about UC Berkeley and everything on campus and around.

EECS Survival Notes [in PDF format]
This guide is pretty outdated, but still includes useful information on housing, the area, initial finances, transportation, health services and the department.
