Preparation: Study: Exploded view diagrams of complex mathematical surfaces

Warm-Up: 

Apply the techniques described in today's paper
to one of the models brought to class.

Paper Presentation: 

Laura leads the discussion on: Exploded view diagrams of complex mathematical surfaces

 1.) How does the described system choose an explosion axis?

2.) How are the locations and orientations for the cutting planes determined?

3.) How does the system deal with surfaces that self-intersect, e.g. a Klein bottle?

Preparing for: PROJECT PROGRESS PRESENTATIONS

These 20 minute presentations are intended to give the presenter as well as the instuctor
the confidence that the project is on a good trajectory.

At the same time this is some training for your future when you will have to make progress reports
to your bosses in industry or to your sponsors at DARPA or NSF.
