Overview over Issue Data Base 1996
These are the roots of the various category and project trees
that will eventually be linked into an interactive database.
Generic Architectural Elements
This is a classification for various types of buildings to show
how one particular project could be part of a much larger database.
Here, the Soda Hall project will be just attached to one leaf node.
These are the various generic spaces that one might find in a building.
Here we have concentrated on the spaces one finds in Computer Science building.
This is the collection of the building systems that one might want to model.
Since at this points our plan in that direction are not very ambitious,
we have only a rather rudimentary list.
This should contain the various architectural/structural elements
that would typically appear in floorplans and elevations.
This may get expanded shortly.
This list is mainly aimed at representing those pieces
that we have models for in our Soda Hall WALKTHRU database.
Generic Knowledge and Concerns
This tries to give some structure for all the various general concerns
that may not have an explicit architectural element or space node
to which they might get attached.
This organization is still under consideration and may change substantially.
A Building for Computer Science Division at UCB
These are initial specifications, constraints, and goals
specific to the Computer Science Building Program.
They should remain valid even if the building were to be redesigned
to fit a different site.
Soda Hall: Design and Construction
This shows and analyzes the special constraints associated
with the site we were given to the east of Etcheverry Hall.
These are the actual plans and implementation decisions
as they were realized in Soda Hall.
Soda Hall: Occupancy and Usage
This describes how the various functions are distributed in Soda Hall.
This shows who occupies what room in Soda Hall.
A Redesign Exercise with the Same Building Program
This new site would obviously have different constraints
from the Soda Hall site and would lead to a different building.
This would be the place where a future redesign would go,
if the CS Building program is reused again
for another CS294-5 / Arch101 design exercise.
