Should students be encouraged to / discouraged from dropping courses ?

• Dropping a course after a few weeks is a wasteful practice.
• It is also disruptive on any joint assignments and teamwork.
  
• Students often panic after a less than perfect midterm exam; ==> give them a clear idea where they stand.
• After the end of fifth week courses can only be dropped by petition (and with payment).

What are the most important things to keep clear in your mind when preparing a (Powerpoint or other) presentation ?

• Be clear on :  WHAT IS THE MESSAGE  that you want to get across.
• Be clear on :  WHO IS THE AUDIENCE   and what do they already know.
