Discussion of Part Fabrication on the ZCorp 3D Printer

Notes on Preparing Files for the ZCorp 3D Printer
As we run the various designed parts, we are gradually learning how to use this machine.
On Dec. 7, a person from Zcorp showed up to install the machine
and to give us training on it ... !!
- The software for assembling multiple parts into one run is primitive,
but manageable after you figure out how to best use it..
- The assumed default units are milli-meters -- but it can be switched to other units, e.g., inches.
- The default coordinate system is left-handed -- but it canbe switched too.
- The build volume for color parts is 230mm in x (to the right), 150mm in y (towards the user), and more than 150mm in z (upwards).
Thus all parts should be built in an orientation that minimizes z-height.
- Multiple parts should be assembled to fill the platform (230x150) as much as possible
while keeping the build height low and as uniform as possible.
- If a user, or a team of users have several (similar) parts to build,
it helps a lot, if the parts are properly scaled and pre-arranged before they are converted to VRML.
