READ: First two sections of the "Surface Design Interface ..." paper.
In the last lecture we looked at various ways to represent shape
-- now we will discuss the processes to create new shapes.

Finish discussions of data structures and interchange formats in
Lecture 2
How to Create Shapes
In our reading assignments we will proceed from rather unstructured
design approaches to more structured ones.
Lab and Accounts
Our main lab for this course will be 349 Soda, with 330 Soda as backup.
You will have to visit 387 Soda Hall with your cardkey to gain access
to these card-key-controlled rooms.
To obtain an instructional UNIX account,
login on a CS UNIX machine with (e.g., in 273 Soda):
USER: newacct
PASSWD: {return}
then answer the questions in the form.
I have submitted the class list on 1/24/00 evening to 333 Soda,
so your name should be on the www-inst.eecs.berkeley.edu/~roster
as being preapproved for access to 330 and 349 Soda.
