Surveillance

A key feature of UCAVs will be their use in reconnaissance and identification of targets in the surrounding environment. While low level vision has made many significant advances, there is still a great deal of work to be done in
  1. Sensor fusion from multiple camera views, sensor fusion from different kinds of cameras (infra red, image intensified, etc.)
  2. Image segmentation, that is, breaking up the scene into semantically different blobs which are then to be tracked for recognition as either hostile or benign.
  3. Dynamic Tracking, of multiple targets, including motion of the camera platform, noisy data, and possible occlusions of objects.
