A key feature of UCAVs will be their use in
reconnaissance and identification of targets in the surrounding
environment. While low level vision has made many significant
advances, there is still a great deal of work to be done in
- Sensor fusion from multiple camera views,
sensor fusion from different kinds of cameras (infra
red, image intensified, etc.)
- Image segmentation, that is, breaking up the scene into
semantically different blobs which are then to be tracked for
recognition as either hostile or benign.
- Dynamic Tracking, of multiple targets, including motion of the
camera platform, noisy data, and possible occlusions of objects.
