If you are not a student at Berkeley:

Please do not e-mail me asking to be admitted (or to spend a summer/semester studying with me, etc.) in case you are not already a student at Berkeley. Unfortunately, I will not be able to respond to such requests. Admissions to the Berkeley graduate program are decided by a committee, and individual faculty members cannot admit students on their own. If you are interested in becoming my student, then I encourage you to write my name as your preferred advisor on the application. Everything else you need to know can be found at the graduate admissions page.

If you are interested in a postdoc position (or if you are a PhD student somewhere and are looking for a visiting position) in my group and publish at top crypto or security venues, then please send me an e-mail. Otherwise, please submit your application to the theory group.

If you are a student at Berkeley:

  • Graduate Students: I always welcome motivated students. Please send me an e-mail and we can schedule some time to talk.

  • Undergraduate Students: I encourage you take CS 171 (or CS 276) before contacting me. Whenever I have the ability, I accept undergrduate students via the DARE program. Please apply for it here.
