I am now a research assistant professor at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign! As such, the page you're on will no longer be maintained. For a more updated perspective on my activities, please visit: http://roydong.web.illinois.edu/.

I received my Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences from the University of California, Berkeley in 2017. My thesis was titled New Data Markets Deriving from the Internet of Things: A Societal Perspective on the Design of New Service Models. It used tools from control theory, statistics and information theory, game theory, and optimization to:

  1. model the role of data and human decisions in large-scale systems

  2. analyze physical, economic, and social consequences of control policies, incentives, and markets

It can be found here.

From 2017 to 2018, I was a postdoctoral researcher and visiting lecturer at University of California, Berkeley. For more details, see the Research tab.
