This talk will focus on enhancement of Intel Architecture Platforms to better
handle 3D, Multimedia and technical forces that will shape the future of
desktop computing. Processor performance continues to double every 18 months.
The revolution in the rest of the platform is bringing high performance
technologies to the volume platforms. The talk will focus on the new technologies
such as AGP, next generation DRAM, USB and 1394. This talk will present
the results of performance analysis studies and present the effects of different
graphics accelerator architecture on desktop performance. What happens when
a consumer platform has new awesome capability at a very affordable price
point? This talk will address these questions, focusing on what Intel is
doing in these areas.
