After breakfast, we headed the famous Santa Cruz Mystery Spot. The Santa Cruz Sentinel named this the top spot to bring relatives, so they couldn't pass it up. It consists of a 3 unusual places where heights appear to change and gravity stops working. For example, look how Linda grows before and after.
Here is an album
of all the mysterious photos.
The rest Friday was pretty easy with many
going
shopping and three going golfing. I believe we came out ahead in golf
balls, for Don and I returned to our childhood by searching for
golf balls in the out-of-bounds areas whenever we had a chance.
After the teens made dinner, we went to the Beach Concert to hear the Herman’s Hermits band from the 1970s.
We concluded the reunion on Saturday, with a breakfast at Linda’s Seabreeze Cafe, a favorite local restaurant. The 11 remaining Pattersons ate around one table while Molly waited on a bench looking through a window. Paul said he had the best pancakes he’d ever had, so we’ll likely return next year.
This reunion was notably relaxed, with everyone knowing
what
to expect and catching up with old friends to see what had happened the
last year.
Once again, in Olympic tradition, we declare 2004 to be the
best
(and biggest) Patterson
reunion ever. We call everyone together for the next reunion on
Saturday
July 2, 2005. We're already making plans to top it!
