Patterson Reunion Thursday July 3

Thursday was an easy day to help us recover from Sunday through Wednesday.

First,  John and the Greenlunds headed back home. The Greats made Irish oatmeal and eggs for breakfast.

Three went to the final surfing lesson. although they were tired, they did well. Their instructor said that Alissa, Brian, and Paul don't need any more lessons. They were so good that next year he will let us just rent boards from him, so that others can see how good his former students are.

Three Idahodians and their docent Great Dave went to Hearst Castle, which is a easy 3.5 hour drive each way. I'm sure that was relaxing.

The rest of us played Magic, finally went to the Boardwalk, or got ready for the 4th of July Parade.

Don and Pat made tasty enchiladas for dinner.

That night Linda taught her Improv class accompanied by the two 'Lissas (Alissa and Melissa). They particularly enjoyed a improv game called "Family Dinner," in which they were given a bell and horn to signal how family members would or would not behave. They selected actors to play members of their family, and honked them if their assigned character would not act that way. The improvisors had to restate their lines until they got the approving ding. It was great fun for everyone to see the two 'Lissas views of the idiosynchracies of their brothers and parents.

Young Dave returned that night his second stay at the reunion.

We went to bed relatively early, as the next day was a big one.
