The morning started in the ocean again, but this time in daylight.
Siblings Alyssa, John, and Paul were taking their third lesson and Uncles
Dave and Don were taking their second at 7 AM. We all did better, and Aunt
Linda and her assistant recorded the images for posterity. Here are
9 surfing photos:
It had been a long week, and after climbing the stairs up the cliff
at end of the lesson we were happy
and relieved.
The SoCals continued their trip up the coast, and the rest of us relaxed and shopped until around 5 PM. Then the teens, led by Ryan and Melissa, made a picnic dinner and then we headed to the Boardwalk.
The free concert performance was the 1960s British band Herman and the Hermits. We had placed our blankets in the morning, and returned to find a very large crowd. Can you find the Patterson Clan? (Hint: they're waving.)
The star (Peter Noone) was a real entertainer. This show was the last performance of Moe Moscowitz, the Rock Star Signer who attends all the concerts and helps the deaf appreciate Rock 'N Roll. After the first set, some road rides at intermission. The temperature went down with the sunset, and we welcomed hot chocolate.
The evening set was entertaining, even for the Pattersons who were much younger than the songs. This show was one of the best of the summer.
