I am a graduate student at the University of California, Berkeley, in
the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS),
advised by Martin Wainwright and
I am also a member of Berkeley AI Research.
Previously, I was an undergraduate at Stanford University.
I'm originally from the Pacific Northwest.
My research interests span continuous optimization and high-dimensional
statistics and connections therein. Recently, I have been working on
algorthms for distributed optimization in large networks. These types of problems
arise in many modern applications of statistical learning.
(One buzz-word here is ``federated learning.'')
- Our paper on distributed
operator splitting for federated learning will appear at NeurIPS 2020.
