Snow Goose at the Sacramento NWR

Traveling between Bainbridge Island and Berkeley, we usually have an hour or so to kill before we can eat at our favorite place on the route-- Granzella's in Williams, CA. The Sacramento National Wildlife Refuge makes the time pass quickly-- especially in the late fall and early winter, when the sky is filled with great flocks of these birds.
