Black Skimmer at Bolsa Chica

In the little essay at the front of this section, I mention snorkeling over a turtle-grass flat and leaving my binoculars in the car. While I was snorkeling, I looked up just in time to see my first Black Skimmer, cruising over the water just in front of me. Reminds me of an expression about cake. These birds are seen regularly now in the San Francisco Bay area, occasionally even at my favorite spot-- Radio Road Lagoon.
