Red-breasted Sapsucker

There are tall Birch Trees between our condominium apartment and our garage. When we first saw the place we noticed that the Birches were riddled with sapsucker holes. Eventually, we were sure to be visited by a lovely bird-- just outside our windows. During one of those visits, I photographed from our breakfast nook while the bird played the usual woodpecker peek-a-boo with me in one of the trees.
