Mountain by the sea

Mt. Walker stands alone on the east side of Hwy 101 as that road winds along the west side of Hood Canal. It is not a high mountain, but it provides spectacular views of the Canal, of Admiralty Inlet, and of Puget Sound beyond. And it is home to many of the same birds that one finds at much higher elevations in Olympic National Park.
