Female Costa's Hummingbird

The late-afternoon winter sun behind my left shoulder cast the deep shadow of a mesquite twig across this bird, but otherwise illuminated it beautifully. Compared with the garish male Costa's, the soft colors and appearance of the female are especially appealing to me.
