HP DeskScan II is the software application native to the HP ScanJet ADF for image scanning.

1. Place your document to be scanned on the clear glass panel inside the HP ScanJet ADF.
2. Click Preview. A small version of your image will soon appear.
3. Adjust the bounding black rectangle using the mouse. You can drag the corners of the rectangle to resize it, or drag inside the rectangle to move it around the scanning area.
4. Click Final. You will be prompted for a destination file to save the image to.
5. The Save as type: box allows you to select the image format you wish to save the image in.

changing the color depth / color options for your image:

The Type list box contains many options for the amount of color information DeskScan II will scan from your image.

The Scaling scroll bar allows you to control how large or how much precision the HP uses to scan your image. Initial units are in inches, but you can change this setting by selecting Custom Menu then the Image Size Menu Option, and changing the units and/or actual width and height of the image.
