Hi! Welcome to Ping's MINSE PolyMediator (circa 1996), a pre-MathML prototype for conveying structured expressions on Web pages. You don't need any special software to see math on the Web or to put it in your documents! This particular test page has been hijacked, along with some of the software, to Berkeley (November, 2000).
The following is a simple demonstration that lets you type in expressions and then renders them for you in a mathematics context. The design of MINSE is flexible enough to allow multiple contexts, so that math is not the only possible application. Also, it is specifically designed to convey semantic information, so that rendering to various kinds of media is possible in a meaningful way.
To find out more about MINSE and its design, please visit Mathematics on the Web.
To try out a MINSE expression, enter it in the form below. (Or you can just try out the sample that's already entered.)
Please feel free to send me your thoughts about this system!
