The year 2015 continued with mechanical signal processor novelties that included extending super-regenerative concepts to optical signal reception with the first optomechanical super-regenerative receiver; demonstrating the highest order micromechanical filter (at 7th order); and demonstrating the first practical all-mechanical communication receiver capable of detecting, amplifying, and demodulating FSK signals with only picoWatts of power, while consuming no power when listening for valid inputs. The last of these remains a topic of intense research and will likely become the next high-impact new commercialized product (to follow MEMS-based timing) to come out of the Nguyen Research Group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
