 Description

In order to understand the importance of component based design, there must first be and appreciation/understanding of the Intellectual Property (IP) involved.  We have itemized some of the more "popular" DSP cores to gain a statitiscal understanding of the key parameters of an Intellectual Property (IP) block.  Different manufacturers have developed cores based on particular applications, thus the drive for various parameters were optimized while trying to maintain a level of ingenuity.

Below we have created a comprehensive list of the major developers in designing DSP cores.  Each manufacturer below either creates or licenses it's core to develop advanced chips and components.  We have categorized the DSP cores by the following:
