3D MRI Project Ideas

There is a good opportunity for projects on the VR display of 3D MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) data. Prof. Stark can get sets of this data from several sources and students who elect this project (there could be some competing groups) could play with different exploratory VR interactions with the data base. It is inherently a computational data base of (say) 128 x 128 x 16 voxels (or 3D pixels) generally of some part of the body. Perhaps we could also get the anatomical mane as a guide to the anatomy. Then there might be displays like taking surfaces and wandering throughout the MRI anatomy to ascertain various aspects in detail.

There may be a prize (like dinner for four at Mama Lan's restaurant) for successful VR displays with interaction, etc.
